California’s Jason Calacanis @ ‘Loser’ Silicon Alley Insider

Calacanis on “lots of loser types” who he purports “drafted” off of his suposed brand:
My magazine had the name Silicon Alley in it…lots of loser types rushed in and created Silicon Alley SOMETHING and “Alleycat” type brands that drafted off my brand. However, my brand was the best and was the most ou there–all their drafting did was secure our slot as the leader of the pack.
Calacanis copycat ALLEY LOSERS, REALLY? As in SILICON ALLEY (SOMETHING) INSIDER perhaps–led by New York Internet SEC loser Henry Blodget? ODD, that Calacanis would choose a (New Age) supposed “Alley” knockoff to lambast supposed 1.0 “Alley” copycats.
Who is copying whom, though?
In 1995, Business Week headlined “Manhatan Turns Into ‘Silicon Alley,” citing the 1994-created New York New Media Association’s Silicon Alley big bashes. Where in the world was Jason Calacanis’ “brand” Silicon Alley Reporter in 1994-1995? NOWHERE, according to Business Week.
Calacanis’ claims a big-bad “Alley” brand way back when self-declaring “we were the community.” BUT, Jason was quick to distance himself from his supposed branded ”movement” as soon as expedient: Venture Reporter?
NOW, Calacanis is doing the Internet Valley dance.
