Facebook, Microsoft: Last Defenses Against Google Stranglehold

Jerry Yang let Google easily usurp Yahoo’s pioneering Overture asset. Now, the number two search contender is handing over Yahoo search real estate to its supposed number one competitor.

NO surprise: IAC’s Barry Diller has long played the nonsensical Ask.com will partner with Google so we can compete against Google (losing) game. Ditto for AOL.

AOL, Ask and Yahoo may have no ambition be the next Google, but Facebook does, and Microsoft seeks to maintaint its supremacy.

An open, competitive Internet economy requires the likes of Steve Ballmer and Mark Zuckerberg: Business leadership with the fortitude to hamper Google’s determined manifest destiny for GOOG monopoly control of both the Web and cloud computing, on behalf of their own companies‘ grand ambitions.
