Tech Startup Capital of the World: Silicon Alley
By DONNA BOGATIN • Apr 1st, 2008 • Category: STARTUP PITCHESNew Yorkers proudly proclaim our great city to be not only the reigning “capital of the world,” but the world capital for many endeavors: Culture, finance, media…TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP?
The sun may shine brightly on West Coast, venture capital-backed new tech ventures, but New York, New York, shines when it comes to the heart and soul of in-the-trenches technology startup venturing: BOOTSTRAPPING!
Allen Stern, a fellow in-the-trenches New York City technology blogger, presents the New York-based “For Your Imagination” production of the nextNYers video interview of me presenting my new Silicon Alley startup for startups: StartupAlpha.com!
Way back in 1997, I created New York City’s first Internet For Entrepreneurs workshop for the SCORE division of the Small Business Administration and have been a Silicon Alley cheerleader ever since. Eleven years in, it is gratifying to experience a renaissance of entrepreneurship and mutual support among the New York technology community.
I invite all my fellow New York entrepreneurs, as well as neighboring and visiting technologists, to join me in celebrating an invigorated Silicon Alley, a bootstrapping tech startup capital of the world, on May 13, at the StartupAlpha.com launch party in the heart of the business capital of the world: Manhattan.
Until then, start pitching, for free, at the new Startup Alpha Pitch Community!
Hear all about it, courtesy of Courtney Nichols, host of the nextNYers weekly web series profiling the “top executives of the hottest up-and coming technology, new media and Web 2.0 companies in New York.”
RSVP: FREE PARTY FOR STARTUPS MAY 13 to “Win The Startup Lottery”!
